SFP Modules

SFP stands for small form-factor pluggable modules. It is a network interface module that is used for data communication as well as telecommunication. The SFP interface is a modular slot on networking hardware designed for a media related transceiver that has a laser that communicates with the receiving side of the other optical cable.
SFP modules have different bandwidth capabilities and wavelengths. The chosen SFP should be compatible with the optical fiber cable you want to install.
Different modes of fiber require a particular SPF such as single mode fiber would require a SFP compatible with single mode and a multimode fiber with a multimode SFP compatibility.
